Inspired by nature: All about our wood
Knots
Knots are a natural part of wood and can appear in different sizes and shapes. Their presence is permissible as long as they do not compromise the structural integrity of the product. Generally, knots do not negatively affect the strength of the wood and can even enhance its visual appeal by adding a unique, natural aesthetic. These characteristics are typical of wood from natural sources and do not constitute a defect in quality.

Cracks in Wood
Cracks in wood are a natural feature of the material and arise due to various factors such as moisture changes, temperature fluctuations, or the natural drying process. As long as the cracks do not impair the structural integrity of the product, they are acceptable. Cracks up to one-quarter of the length or depth of the product do not pose any risk to the strength or functionality of the wood. Such cracks typically do not affect the usability of the product and are common in natural wood. They can even enhance the wood’s natural appearance, giving it a distinctive, authentic look.

Blue Stain on Wood
Blue stain, also known as sapstain, is a natural discoloration caused by microorganisms. It only affects the surface and has no impact on the quality or strength of the wood. This phenomenon is a normal characteristic of the material and does not constitute a reason for complaint.

Wood Protection Recommendation
We supply wood dried to approximately 15% in large kilns with additional heat and regular moisture removal. This wood is suitable for both furniture and wooden structures.
Despite careful drying, we strongly recommend applying two layers of protective coating before assembly. This additional step reliably protects the material from moisture, rain, and other climatic influences. Coating the wood not only increases its resistance to external conditions but also helps maintain its excellent quality and beautiful appearance for many years. Regular maintenance and reapplication of the protective coating ensure long-term stability and aesthetics.

Origin of Our Wood
We source our wood from the forests of Central Europe, with a special focus on pine and spruce, known for their high quality and versatility. This wood comes exclusively from strictly government-controlled forests where sustainable forestry is practiced. These forests are regularly monitored to ensure the responsible use of natural resources.
A key aspect of this sustainable management is continuous reforestation: after each harvest, new seedlings are planted to guarantee long-term regeneration and forest preservation for future generations. This practice not only protects biodiversity but also actively contributes to climate protection, as trees serve as natural carbon storage.

Ecologically Pure Wood
For the production of our play equipment and furniture, we have deliberately chosen untreated wood. This decision is based on our strong commitment to ecological sustainability and the health of our youngest customers. Untreated wood is completely free of chemical additives, making it an environmentally friendly and safe material, especially for products that come into contact with children.
By avoiding chemical treatments, we guarantee an absolutely pure and natural product that contains no potential pollutants. At the same time, this choice gives our customers the freedom to protect the wood in their own way. They can decide which protective agents to use to safeguard the wood from natural influences such as rain and sun. This flexibility allows the material to be maintained according to individual needs while preserving the wood’s natural beauty.
